The infant child of a deaf woman drowned in Knoxville Tuesday. Jennifer Tomko left Javin Collins alone in bathtub and found the ten-month-old drowned when she returned. Her neighbors called 911 and attempted CPR, but her baby was pronounced dead at East Tennessee Children's Hospital.

There's a new site where you can take a look at the architectural history of the Tennessee School for the
Deaf in Knoxville. The exhibit was put together by the
Tennessee Virtual Archive and features images of the unique buildings on the campus. Many of these structures were designed by noted deaf architect
Thomas Scott Marr in the 1920s. Marr graduated from the school and went on to found a prominent Nashville architectural firm that carried his name -
Marr and Holman. You'll find the site

A deaf teenager in Tennessee, is in critical condition after suffering head injuries this morning. The 13-year-old boy was hit in Lakeland near Memphis by the passenger side mirror of a
Jeep Cherokee driven by an 18-year-old who says he didn't see the bus or its flashing lights. The driver now faces charges related to
the accident.

A free iPhone app shows teens what its like to experience hearing loss from cracking up the music.
Auto-Old My Music plays music the way their parents may hear it - muffled from the loss of high pitches. The app was developed by Baptist Memorial Health Care in Memphis and you can find it at playitdown.org where it has been downloaded more than 10,000 times. If kids want to check their hearing, there's The Volume Zone and The Ear Knob,

The West Tennessee School for the Deaf has a new playground on the campus in Jackson, Tennessee to replace the old wooden one. The school, parents, teachers and students raised $30,000 for the project. West Tennessee serves more than 50 students.
